People Partner

We build the frameworks, the systems and the leadership capability that let 130+ wolves across Ghent, London and New York do the best work of their careers. We aim to be a frontrunner in People practices and we hold ourselves to the same skills-based standard we help our customers build.

As we build towards Series C, the US is where the company grows fastest. We're adding a People Partner to own people practice for every wolf in New York and San Francisco, whatever team they sit on: mostly GTM and delivery today, more as we grow. You'll partner with their leaders, run the operational side their population depends on, and be the People team in the room while we open our second US office in San Francisco. This role is hybrid by design and stays that way: you'll be a strategic partner to senior leaders and the person who fixes a payroll error the same week. Your manager sits in Ghent, so you'll operate with real autonomy and be trusted to make calls without asking first.

What you'll do:

Reporting to Carlotta, who leads our People Partnering team, you will:

• Partner with our US leaders. You'll advise the leaders of every team on the ground here: how their teams are structured, who's ready for more, and what needs to change before it breaks. You'll bring a point of view, challenge theirs, and land hard messages through credibility.

• Shape what comes next, then build it. We have strong foundations, and what the next stage needs is still blank, in the US especially. You'll make the case for where we invest, then design it, ship it and keep it running: our US operating model, the team here, and company-wide projects the wider People team adopts.

• Be the People team in the room. In New York you are People at TechWolf: the person a new joiner, a team lead and a VP all come to, and the one handling the employee relations cases that fit no playbook. You'll represent the US population back to Ghent.

• Run the performance engine with the team. Our review cycle, calibrations and check-ins are one company-wide process, run jointly across Ghent, London and the US. You'll own it for your population, prepare leaders to hold a real bar, and challenge a weak rating.

• Shape the culture of two offices. You'll help open San Francisco and keep building New York, with our Office Manager and with Carlotta on what each office should feel like. Our culture is our sharpest advantage and the easiest thing to lose across an ocean.

• Run the operations your population depends on. US payroll and benefits, parental leaves, contracts, exits, immigration, and multi-state compliance as we add California. You'll automate what you can with AI, and the heavier analytics stay with our team in Ghent.

Who you are:

• You have 5 to 10 years of experience as a People Partner or HRBP in a fast scaling company within tech, including supporting commercial teams.

• You know US employment law across multiple states, New York and California in particular. 

• You've shaped the culture of a team, department or office you were responsible for. 

• You've partnered with leaders at every level, up to VP and C-level. 

• You are genuinely comfortable across both people partnering and people operations.

• You're comfortable running things independently. You know which matters you can trust your judgement on and you know which ones to escalate anyway.

• You thrive in ambiguity and in a fast changing environment. Priorities move, context is changing, and you'd rather start and correct than wait for perfect clarity.

• You work AI-first, or you're impatient to. You'll use agentic tools daily here, and we expect you to raise the bar on how a People function uses them.

• You're based in New York, and up for occasional travel to San Francisco and Ghent.

• Bonus: You've built a people function in a new country or a new office, or supported a population across multiple countries.

Future Opportunities: This role grows with the US. As New York and San Francisco scale, so does your scope. You'll work closely with our teams in Ghent and London, with the same access to internal mobility across TechWolf that you'll be building for everyone else.
