Job description
Engineering Managers at TechWolf play a critical role in guiding their engineering team(s) towards successful delivery of products and features. This non-coding role is designed for a leader who excels at fostering team growth, facilitating clear communication, and implementing efficient engineering processes targeted to high quality output and performance. You will primarily focus on people management and process optimisation, and will work closely with Product Managers and other Engineering leaders to ensure what is being built aligns with the company's vision and brings value to the customer.
Our Engineering department comprises six small and dynamic, cross-functional product teams. We are on the lookout for a skilled Engineering Manager to spearhead our Skill Data Teams, which play a crucial role in seamlessly translating employee and job data into skills through fundamental data manipulation and AI modeling, tying everything together into our API.

Bridge Communication: Be the pivotal voice connecting our engineering talent with other departments and leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared vision.
Shape Our Future: Actively engage in the recruitment and integration of new talent, moulding the future landscape of our team with your insights and expertise.
Empower and Guide: Lead performance evaluations with a focus on nurturing each engineer's career trajectory, offering personalised guidance and vertical or horizontal growth opportunities.
Job requirements
Who you are:
You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering and/or data science.
You have a minimum of 2 years of direct people management experience, including one-on-ones, coaching, and performance reviews.
You demonstrate a solid understanding of software design and architecture, data modeling, API design, and security best practices.
You understand the significance of cross-functional teamwork and collaboration across the organisation.
You exhibit excellent proficiency in the English language, both in writing and speaking.
You have a proven track record in managing complex cross-team initiatives (e.g., breaking monoliths, system migrations, rolling out significant AI improvements, etc.).
You’re based in Belgium and excited to work together with the TechWolf team in our Ghent office at least three days per week.
